PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Pour Point Process Analyser by BARTEC BENKE is an on-stream Analyser designed for closed-loop process control. It correctly measures pour point determinations for diesel, lube and heating oil production. The pour point is the temperature below which a liquid sample will not flow.

After thorough flushing the measuring cell is filled with the product. The product is cooled after a programmable settle down time. During cooling the measuring cell is tilted in 3˚C steps (other steps can be programmed) by a step motor. As soon as the IR-detector detects a movement on the surface of the product (sensitivity programmable), the measuring cell is moved back to vertical position.

If no movement is detected when the cell has been tilted to horizontal position, the measuring cell is kept in that position for 5 seconds. If also then no movement is detected, the temperature of the previous tilting is stored as the pour point temperature. Then the measuring cell is heated up, flushed and the next cycle starts.
