The Model 690 BTU Calorific Analyser by Control Instruments is economical, fully-heated, air aspirator driven and comes complete and ready to install. This analyser measures the caloric value of gases while providing a uniform response to a wide variety of combustibles.

Consider advanced combustion equipment such as a flare stack, boiler, oxidizer or turbine engine which may need to optimise its burner efficiency for reduced fuel costs. A waste gas stream can supplement the fuel supply to achieve proper combustion while saving costs.

The Model 690 directly measures the calorific value of gases while providing uniform response to a wide variety of combustibles. This industrial strength instrument employs a unique theory of operation. A carefully metered flame burns at a constant reference temperature inside an explosion proof measuring cell. A sample to be monitored is draw from the atmosphere and then is passed through the flame cell of the analyser. The thermocouple measures changes in flame temperature and an increase in temperature is directly proportional to the Calorific Value.
